“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” – Acts 20:35
As we enter the Advent season, we are called to revive our awareness that God provided us a gift! A precious gift of His son, Our Lord – Jesus Christ, whose coming into this world is remembered each year as we display and decorate our Christmas trees. We have an opportunity to pick up an ornament that will be helping those less fortunate within our community. What a beautiful way to bring joy and make Christmas brighter through the Spirit of the newborn Christ Child.
The annual “Giving Tree” is located in the Gathering Room. On this tree are little snowmen ornaments, and each snowman has the name, age, clothing size, and wish list of a person with whom you can share the blessings God has given you. We have included the names of children from Benediction, Benediction-Hmong congregation, Benediction-French African congregation, and the mothers and their children at A Place of Refuge.
IMPORTANT DETAIL– Before taking your tag home with you, please record which tag(s) you have taken by placing your name and phone number on the line that corresponds with the number on the tag. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
Information about gifts on tags that get lost can then be traced so that no child is left without a gift. After wrapping gifts, securely tape the original snowman to the gift and return to the Gathering Room NO LATER THAN SUNDAY, December 12th at noon. Gifts will be delivered to their recipients the following week.
Blessings for your support.
