What is the Red Letter Challenge?
Many Bibles have red letters in much of the four Gospels. Do you know why these words are in red? They are the words that Jesus spoke.
The mission of Red Letter Challenge (RLC) is to help us live more like Jesus. Sadly, when many people think of Jesus-followers, the example that is set it is a far cry from who Jesus actually is. If, by God’s grace, we can change the story and perception of who Jesus is, and if people can be introduced to the real Jesus, they might really fall in love with Him.
So how do we begin?
We go back to Christ’s words, those red letters in your Bible. It turns out he had a lot to say to His followers about what we are called to do and how we are called to live.
The RLC is unique because it takes Christ’s literal words and gives you practical daily challenges based on those words. The RLC will give you targets to shoot for to help you measure how you are practically following after Him. True disciples of Jesus want to be the best disciples they can be – not out of obligation, but out of gratitude for what Jesus has done for them!
Do you have what it takes to really follow Jesus? To truly do what He said?
Jesus thinks so!
The 40 days will introduce five major themes encompass life as a disciple of Jesus:
How Will This Work?
At each week’s worship services, Pastor Carl and Pastor Chris will preach on the theme of the week.
The Red Letter Challenge includes a workbook to help you
navigate this 40-day process. There is also a kids’ version geared for children in grades 1-5. Each book is available for a SUGGESTED DONATION of $20.
The books will be available in the church’s Gathering Room and at our outdoor services through the month of September.
We invite you to look over the books and free downloadable resources available to discover what the Red Letter Challenge is all about. It is our prayer that everyone take this journey, either in individual families or, if you wish, form a group and take the journey with others – even if done virtually.
Trinity’s website will also serve as a resource for free weekly videos and downloadable study guides for both adults and kids.
