Our Redeemer’s Men’s Retreat
March 6 - March 8| $190
2020 Our Redeemer Lutheran Church’s Men’s Retreat
March 6-8 • Holiday Inn, Manitowoc
The theme for this year’s retreat, the 20th annual retreat, is “Don’t Give Up” based on the book by Pastor Kyle Idleman. The book contains insights on how to deal with the struggles we all face in our Christian walk and encouragement to not give up from a Christ centered perspective. The retreat’s sectional presentations and discussions will again focus on these chapters of the book.
As this is the 20th anniversary of the Manitowoc Men’s Retreat, here is a little history of the origins of the retreat from Jim Berg:
- The idea of a Men’s Retreat for a yearly gathering all began in the 1990’s when a group of men from Our Redeemer attended a huge gathering of men from all over the midwest at Soldier Field in Chicago. The event was put on by the Promise Keepers who did gatherings all over the United States. On the way home from Chicago four men agreed to try doing a Men’s Retreat. The first Men’s Retreat consisted of about 20 men from Our Redeemer. After a few years Ist Immanuel-Cedarburg and Divine Redeemer joined in, and the retreat now has included men from up to 44 other congregations and up to 150 men attending the retreat in it’s peak year.
- As this is the 20th anniversary of the retreat it would be great to exceed that 150 attendance total!
